The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace and African Sanctus

The Armed Man is a Mass for Peace written for The Royal Armouries Millenium Celebrations and dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo crisis. A choral work set within the framework of the Christian Mass - it uses a Muezzim "Call to Prayer" as well as sacred and secular texts. Selected items have become very popular and are frequently performed on classic fm radio. The African Sanctus, again written in a structure of the Christian Mass, brings together many of the colourful sounds of Africa, with a most beautiful central setting of the Lord's Prayer.

The performance will be given by a choir of over 250 voices, and will include traditional Zulu dancers and the world acclaimed Backbeat Percussion ensemble. This is an absolute MUST for Christians who wish to hear the familiar text of the Mass treated in vibrant and exciting ways.
