Gambians in Need Garden Party Response

On behalf of GAMBIANS IN NEED we just wanted to say a special Thank You for your interest and continued awareness of the work we’re doing out in the James Ogoo Nursery School in the suburbs of Serrakunda.

Our Garden Party went with a wonderful swing (not least in thanks to the live Gambian drumming). The weather was England at its best – sitting in the glorious summer garden; nibbling at wonderful cakes; perusing a vast array of books and plants and meeting up with friends.

So thank you to each of you who came/couldn’t come/are interested in our 128 under 7’s. We raised just over £1K – and that will educate the entire school and help towards the teacher’s salaries (all unpaid by the State!).

Also to say that if any of you couldn’t make the day – and would have really liked to see Liz’s remarkable nursery of mature plants (selling at £2.50 each!!! - £6.99 at Strikes) then just let me know at jane.aldrick@ntlworld.com
