Leeds Church Funds Jesus Adverts

Churches in Leeds are raising £1700 to put the message of a Christ-Centred Christmas out on Radio Aire.

There will be regular playings throughout the day over the whole of the 2 week period prior to Christmas, to its audience of approx. 130,000.

A poster has also been produced for the outreach which can be seen and downloaded from the website and used by your church. (For approx. £100, you can also adopt a bus stop local to your church over the period, with the poster.)

Thanks to the generosity of various churches already, more than half of the cost has been met and only approx. £700 is left to find. The adverts can be heard from the Church Ads website at: http://www.churchads.org.uk/2009/radio.html

The churche sthat are already involved believe when you hear the ads you'll see how they couldl have a strong impact on our city, especially to our targeted group, the under- 30s which is the main audience of Radio Aire.

This initiative is being coordinated by John Carter, Communications officer for the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds. The request is for congregations to contribute a small amount to enable the adverts to go ahead, perhaps £25 each - less for small fellowships and more for our larger congregations. If more than the remaining amount is committed, it will be used to further the outreach. Please pray for the outreach in your church that its impact would be noticeable in our needy city.
