Green Generations Festival - Get Involved
‘Green Generations’ is the first Intergenerational Celebration Festival for Leeds, being held from the 26th – 30th April 2010. The aims of the Celebration week are:
- To bring generations together to build community relations and develop intergenerational responses to environmental and social issues across the city
- To encourage people of all generations to get involved in volunteering across the city
- To celebrate the 2nd European Day of Solidarity Between Generations (29th April 2010)
- To support the 2010 Year of the Volunteer in Leeds
Many of you are involved in intergenerational work already, and this initiative may be something that you want to connect with in order to promote your activities. For others it may be a springboard to try something new.
Linked here are further details of the festival, including an application pack for small grants. The deadline is extremely tight - next Friday 22nd Jan. Unfortunately I only received the information yesterday, and have today had confirmed that this deadline will not be postponed. However, incase any of you already have an initiative which it would be appropriate to apply for funding for, I thought it worth circulating.
As 2010 is Leeds' Year of Volunteering, LCTiM will be seeking to explore ways in which we can support and encourage congregations and projects to engage - more information in due course. We would also be keen to support you if you decide to get involved in the 'Green Generations' festival, whether or not you apply for funding.
As always, please just contact me via email or phone.
Sincerely
