Greenbelt Leeds 2010

Mary might have mentioned the event I'm hosting in Leeds later in the month.bunting

I'm heading up the site vibing team for Greenbelt festival for the second time this year, hoping to build on the successes of last year I've been looking at ways to get more skilled creative people involved in making art works, decoration and signposting for the festival.

Much of the work made last year happened in my London studio. this year the plan is to have some Make Days in other parts of the country. The first two are in Leeds at the end of the month, at the  Left Bank Leeds Cardigan Rd, Leeds, LS6 1LJ (Click here for a map), 10-5 on Saturday 27th and  Sunday 28th March, and it would be great if members of the Artisan network in Leeds would come, get involved, show their support.

Greenbelt is a handmade festival, and this is very true of the art installations, decoration and signposting across the site. As a RCA grad, I volunteered to head up the site vibing team because I know that handmade can mean beautiful and wellcrafted. Greenbelt works to make a high quality and challenging programme and I'm working hard to raise the bar when it comes to the festival's site decoration.  To do that I need other aesthetically and creatively minded people to get involved!

We're intending to work on a range of creative projects -  sewing bunting and wind catchers, crafting decorative elements to hang in trees, and components for larger art installations that'll be constructed on site.

This might be the first time attendees have contributed to greenbelt, or they might be old hands, either way they'll be up for making their mark on this years festival.

It's an opportunity to utilise/explore their creativity and to meet other Greenbelters from the region.

And for those that really enjoy the weekend activities, and want to get involved further in the site vibing team, this will be a good opportunity to meet me, the team leader and other members of the team.
