Acorn Bookshop - Easter Reading
Easter book recommendations:
There are loads of lovely children's books for Easter - here are just two to whet your appetites:
For the preschool age group "The Easter Bible storybook" ISBN 9781844272921, published by Scripture Union, price 3.99. With its beautiful puppet illustrations, this is a great addition to the Bible Friends collection. Simple message emphasising throughout that Jesus is alive.
For 7-10 year olds "Amazing Journey" by Susie Poole ISBN 9781904637431 published by Pupfish, price 6.99. A great explanation for this age group of why Jesus had to die to rescue us and his plan of salvation from the very beginning. Lovely pictures and thoughtful text.
"Alive" by Dan Clark ISBN 9781844744084, published by IVP. Answers to difficult questions and the evidence for the resurrection. Great to read yourself or to give to an interested or sceptical friend. Despite the subject matter it's an easy read, broken up into short sections. It even has drawings!
If you just want some encouraging reading for the Easter holidays that reflects the joy of Easter, what better than the Psalms? Try "Prayer Praise and Promises" by Warren Wiersbe ISBN 9780847407019, published by Back to the Bible, price 7.50. A year's worth of readings on the Psalms, brim full of encouragement. Start now; no need to wait till the beginning of the next year!
Alternatively, try a Christian biography - always a challenge and an encouragement. "Erika - what can man do to me?" ISBN 9781842913185 published by David C Cook, price 7.99, is the story of amazing survival in the Second World War and Erika's spiritual journey too.
