Connect 2010: A chance to be inspired

Connect is a creative networking event brought to you by Leeds Churches Together in Mission, Leeds Christian Community Trust, Network Leeds and Unity in Poverty Connect1Action. It will be your opportunity to meet with Christians from lots of different backgrounds who are involved in all sorts of exciting mission initiatives across Leeds.

The central point of the evening will be the launch of Sidelined: Nine stories of hope from the margins of Leeds. Focusing on the stories of those whose lives have been touched by the work of the Christian social action projects profiled, this film is a new resource for Christians to reflect on living out the Gospel in our contemporary city context. Before and after the screening, the organisers will host a variety of creative networking opportunities to enable stories to be shared, dreams to be spoken out, and connections to be created. The organisers hope that this will enable Christians in Leeds to start conversations across the traditional barriers of congregation, denomination, generation, location and occupation. Through this, we want to see strengthened relationships amongst the body of Christ in Leeds, which will in turn lead to all sorts of new grass-roots mission to help to transform our city.

If you...
  • are involved in an existing Christian initiative in Leeds...

  • are thinking of starting a missional project...
  • would be interested in volunteering for / giving to / praying for faith-based social action in your city...
  • are curious about what is going on across the church in Leeds...
  • would just like some free food and interesting conversations...

...then this is the event for you! A children's activity area will be available too.

A buffet will be served on arrival. For more information, feel free to contact Network Leeds (0113 3508104 / hotline@networkleeds.com), LC-TiM (info@leedschurchestogether.org.uk) or LCCT (0113 3508622 / tim@lcct.org.uk).

Is this something that needs booking or do we just turn up?
