Eden Network Update July 10

Hi All,

As you are packing bags for your summer holidays we are packing ours for a whole range of events during August. Over the last month we have been moving forward with Eden across the country.

In the North East our new regional board met for the first time. This group of leaders from across the North East is chaired by Mark Elder and, as Eden North East will be raising finance, recruiting Eden teams and encouraging people to pray for Eden as the first new teams launch in Byker, Newcastle and Easterside, Tees Valley in the Autumn.

Down in London things are also picking up pace. We are really excited that our first two London Eden partnerships have now been agreed and will be launching in the Autumn on the Dalgarno Way estate, North Kensington and the Lincoln estate, Bromley by Bow. We now need to recruit team leaders and volunteers for these projects and to raise money to keep them afloat. To give the fundraising a kick start we’re taking part in Rat Race an urban challenge event that turns cities into high-adrenaline adventure playgrounds, check out this link for more info www.eden-network.org/ratrace

TODAY ON EDEN: Over in Fitton Hill the team will pop in to the local high school at lunchtime to offer specific support to kids who are struggling. Heather from the Eden Fitton Hill team is now a teacher in the school and they have worked really hard over the last few years to build up a great partnership there.

We’ll be out and about over the summer at New Wine North, Detling, Momentum and Greenbelt so do come and visit us and say hi!
