Eden Yorkshire Update October 2010
Welcome to our first Eden Yorkshire news & prayer email! I am full of anticipation to see what God will do in our region through Eden in the coming years. We are the first region outside of Manchester to have Eden projects and as we head towards the winter here in Yorkshire our Eden teams are finding new and old ways to reach young people and their families with the life changing message of the Gospel.
Eden Buttershaw in Bradford are gearing up to launch their version of the Message Trust’s Eden Bus which is the Eden Caravan! Having secured some funding the team will be converting a caravan and towing it around their estate doing detached work. This really is taking the Gospel to where it is desperately needed but hardest to find.
Eden Arbourthorne & Norfolk Park in Sheffield continues to grow as it runs a variety of youth clubs and discipleship groups. Simon Allison the Team Leader and Alex Hall who is one of the Eden Team, have just completed training to become ASDAN trainers. ASDAN’s programmes and qualifications offer flexible ways to accredit personal and social education, skills development and enrichment activities, mainly for the 11-25 age group. This is giving them great open doors in to their local schools and great opportunities to build strong relationships with local young people.
NEW PROJECT IN SHEFFIELD: Eden Fir Vale is coming ever closer to launching. This community made up of mainly Easter Europeans and Muslims is an area of high depravation and will benefit greatly when the Eden Team is established there.
SHINE SHEFFIELD 2011. In July 2011 we will see a great week of mission take place in five high schools in Sheffield featuring LZ7, twelve24, In Yer Face theatre company and Golddigger from Sheffield. It is shaping up to be a week of great impact; with a number of Churches working together to see teenagers reached with the Gospel this could be a significant event for the city!

22-28th November Eden National Week of Fasting & Prayer! Across the country our teams, churches and many supporters are being called upon to set aside this week for a focused time of seeking God for His favour. Eden’s National Director Matt Wilson says;
“I’d love this to be a time of great passion and creativity and we really want to resource you to make the most of this week in your own location. How you go about structuring the week is up to you, there’s no prescription other than a heartfelt request for us all to stand together crying out for breakthrough!”
