We have had a busy November so far, out and about talking about Eden across the country.
Up in the North East Andy Hawthorne spoke at the launches of Eden Easterside, Eden Byker and Eden Blyth and from those events we are now following up people who feel called to join the teams! Matt Wilson, Andy and I hosted a seminar stream at Plant Church conference in Sheffield, meeting some great people and being spurred on together to plant new expressions of church in urban communities.
Yesterday I was down in London for a seminar day discussing the latest publication in Urban mission: ‘Crossover City’. Edited by Andrew Davey and with a case study on Eden written by yours truly, this book addresses the issues and opportunities raised by mission in our urban communities including partnership with other churches, preaching and the bring and share meal as a way to take communion together. But for the next week Mon 22nd – Sun 28th, we’re dropping to our knees for our Eden Week of Prayer and Fasting! We have massive needs:
· For people to join with us in this movement to see our deprived communities populated with hope.
· For people to stand with us financially, regularly giving to enable the work to continue.
· For people to commit to praying for us for the long haul sharing their vision for their region and calling others to join them.
On our website you can find PRAYER REQUESTS from all of our teams and resources to help you pray. There is a DAILY DEVOTIONAL for the week to help you meditate on God’s word and pray for Eden each day. There’s even an EDEN GRACE that you can say with your family at meal times.
