Can you host a Chinese student in Leeds?
A Northumberland-based Christian company, called Summit Consultancy International Ltd, supports students from China who want to study in the United Kingdom by finding them a place of study and a host family. They attend County Church in Northumberland which is part of the New Frontiers family of churches.
Their vision is to place their Chinese students with Christian host families who will be able to care for them while they study. Their hope is that each young person will have an opportunity to hear the Gospel if they wish to do so. If a Christian host family is not available they do not take up the business. To reach their goal we hope to work in partnership with churches around the UK and widen our network of host families.
Attached is an information leaflet explaining what it means to be a host family and the fees that are payable to anyone acting in that capacity. A host family may offer either ‘Homestay’ (Option 1 in the attached leaflet) or Half-Term Boarding (Option 2).
They would be interested to hear from anyone who is interested in either option but their immediate priority is to find a family who can offer ‘Homestay’ (Option1) to a 15 year old boy. He will be studying in the Leeds area and needs a host family with whom he can stay throughout the term. He will return home for the longer holiday periods.
