Thank you for saying YES to religious liberty and NO to the Defamation of Religions Resolution

Right to Believe campaign update: signatures on the Open Doors global petition have been finally counted. In the last few days we have surged past the target of 100,000 signatures and reached 148,715!

Thank you if you signed – your name has joined thousands of others across the world. Open Doors colleagues in other national offices have also been busy and together around 400,000 signatures have been gathered from at least 75 countries.

The petition will be presented at the United Nations in New York on 6 December to Mr Simonovic, the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights. Please pray that the strong show of support for the petition will influence the decision makers within the UN, showing the level of concern regarding the Defamation of Religions Resolution from thousands around the world.

The presentation of the petition in New York will be echoed around the world, as Presidents and Prime Ministers, senior politicians and diplomats are alerted to the concern that has been expressed over this issue. Please pray that these arrangements will further amplify all your signatures.

In the UK we have raised the awareness of Members of Parliament regarding the Defamation of Religions Resolution. Thanks to over 6,000 people writing to their MPs, nearly all MPs have been alerted to the Resolution and 115 MPs have said YES to religious liberty and NO to the Defamation of Religions Resolution by signing Early Day Motion 864.
