Dear friends,
This brief newsletter brings you tidings of two great events next year. First, on Saturday 26 March we have a day conference in Leeds entitled “The Gospel’s Green Light: Motives for Environmental Care.” Peter Harris, the founder of A Rocha, has agreed to speak to us, along with other speakers soon to be confirmed. This will be a day for all who want to explore how and why Christians care for the rest of the natural creation, and to discuss how we might engage with the “Green” movement. Full details and a booking form will be available in the new year. For now, please put the date in your diary and plan to be there.
Later in the year we have our annual Summer Lectures in Leeds city centre, to be delivered by Mary Stewart van Leeuwen under the title, “Sex and the Church: Male and Female in Christian Perspective.” Titles of Mary’s talks are already available on the LifeMatters website. Again, do put 10 and 11 June in your new diary.
Finally, we have some good news from RealityBites: a short film-clip featuring Mark Roques telling a story about cannibals and the gospel is available on YouTube. It’s aimed at catalysing discussions in youth groups and emphasising the power of the Gospel. Turn up your speakers and click here to watch…
With warm good wishes for Christmas and New Year,
Richard.
