- As you may have noticed in previous newsletters we were asking for action photos of the volunteers at their placements to enter a competition.
We wanted up to date fresh photos for our website and publicity showing what it is really like to be a volunteer so we asked the volunteers to get some inside photos! Congratulations to Martin Jaeger and Michele Asuncion at Pioneer Centre for the winning photo! They were rewarded with a £50 Amazon voucher. Thank you to everyone who entered photographs – they were great! Watch out for them appearing on the website soon!

I trust you enjoyed the BIG conference if you were able to go and meeting other volunteers. Safe travels to those of you arriving this week. Please use the google map to link up with other volunteers in your area. We wish you all the best for the year to come.
Last week all serving TFG volunteers, TFG staff, some trustees, ex-volunteers and helpers gathered together for our annual ‘celebration’.
The atmosphere was great which is testament to the willingness of all to engage in the proceedings – so thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event such a success.
Cefn Lea in mid-Wales again proved a hospitable centre for this event – we were catered for very well.
We had fun, fellowship and refreshment (physical and spiritual) in equal measures as we reflected on our year of volunteering so far and looked forward to what is to come. We also welcomed some new friends who were just starting their TFG journey. There were times of relaxing, opportunities for reflection, for meeting Field Officers as well as times of corporate and personal worship.
The weather was wonderful permitting stunning views of the surroundings, particularly for those who ventured out on the walks - go to the ‘tfgvols’ Facebook group to view the pictures. And The Fringe was a definite highlight – Games, Gospel Choir, Jive dancing, Scottish dancing, cultural presentations, gymnastics, comedic hosts, musicians, songs, poetry and competitive banana eating - what talent!
I pray that as they return to their placements, all the volunteers take whatever they received from the conference, be it refreshment, friendship, new insight, inspiration, encouragement, peace ... and use it in the communities they serve to God’s glory.
