Fancy doing the Great North Run to Raise Money for St. Gemma's Hospice?

St. Gemma’s Hospice has a limited number of fundraising places available for the prestigious Great North Run, which takes place on Sunday, 18 September 2011.

The Great North Run is the world’s most popular half marathon and the route runs between Gateshead and South Shields. If you choose to join our team, you will be making a vital contribution to the running costs of St. Gemma’s Hospice, which currently stand at £21,750 per day.

In the months leading to the event, we will provide you with training tips, a free St. Gemma’s Hospice running vest and lots of fundraising support and advice. On the day of the Great North Run, we will have a marquee at the finish line, where you will receive hot and cold refreshments, snacks, and, most importantly, a sports massage, to ease any aches and pains.

In 2010, our Great North Run team raised an impressive £41,000 between them. Sign up now and let’s see if, together, we can raise even more in 2011.

Entry to the Great North Run 2011 costs £50 per person. This covers the costs of organising the event. We also ask that each individual sets their sponsorship target at around £300. There is plenty of time between now and September to raise the money and you will probably find that you raise in excess of this amount. Many people choose to run with colleagues, so why not ask around at your workplace and see if you can get a group together to train and fundraise together?
