The Church and Media Conference 2011 - Update

We’re delighted to announce that the wonderful Dame Catherine Wybourne is joining the line-up for Media Futures : The Church and Media Conference 2011. Dame Catherine, a Cambridge graduate and former banker, is now Prioress at the Holy Trinity Monastery in East Hendred, Oxfordshire. But she is more widely known as Digitalnun, spiritual leader of the iBenedictines, whose online retreats have attracted praise from all quarters. Dame Catherine is a witty and wise speaker whose challenging thoughts on digital media as sacred space will close the conference.

Dame Catherine’s contribution will complete two days of lively debate. Highlights include Claire Fox and Roger Darlington discussing internet regulation, James Poulter and Pete Philips on Social Media Revolution and Tim Suter asking Who Owns The Media (and why does it matter?)

The conference will also feature a chance to visit The Blue Room, the BBC’s hands-on exhibition of the very latest in consumer technology for radio, TV and gaming. This will be accompanied by an address on “Platform Alterations” in which technology expert Simon Broad will outline the trends in media consumption. So it really is an opportunity to get ahead of the crowd in understanding media futures.

The Church and Media Conference 2011 will be held at the Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick, Derbyshire on Monday 13th and Tuesday14th June 2011. For more details, and to book your place, visit www.mediafutures.info.

The last few places at the “early booking rate” are still available, ensuring a discount of £50 on a full conference pass if you book soon.

Don’t miss it.

Best wishes
