Next Leeds Churches Together in Mission main meeting - June
Dear Friends of LCTiM,
The next Leeds Churches Together in Mission main meeting is taking place on Tuesday 14th June at 7.30pm. There is a change of venue for this meeting, instead of Create Café, we will be meeting at Leeds Church Institute – 20 New Market Street, LS1 6DG. The meeting will be in the conference room on the top floor, so should there be no-one on the door when you arrive please buzz the conference room for entry.
The focus of the next meeting will be on Leeds City of Sanctuary and the activities of churches and Christians around the city supporting asylum seekers and refugees. This promises to be an informative and motivational evening. City of Sanctuary launched in Leeds last autumn and is a movement to make Leeds a more welcoming city for people who come here looking for safety. There will be stories of what churches have done and are doing to befriend and meet the needs of refugees and asylum seekers, and an opportunity for sharing ideas and questions about how individuals and churches can be more involved in the City of Sanctuary movement. As usual there will also be the opportunity for all present to share information and updates on activities and events. The meeting is open to anyone who would like to come so if there are others from your church or churches together group that you think would like to be there to hear more about City of Sanctuary please do invite them along.
I have attached an agenda for the coming meeting as well as the minutes and presentation from our meeting on the 16th February for your information. If you cannot make it and want to send apologies please can you send them to me by Thursday 9th June, as I will be away from that date but will ensure any apologies received before then are passed onto Bishop John Packer who chairs the meeting.
