  Summer Respite
Dear Karen --- The summer can appear to offer respite from life's emotional challenges. We talk about a good dose of sunshine, taking a slower pace to life or going on a relaxing holiday. All of these are good, if they are actually realised, but be cautious not to expect too much of the season. I was with a dear farmer friend in Norfolk last month and recognised that my 'sunny spring' was his 'drought nightmare'. Try to keep doing the things that help you in the winter months, you may like to try 'contemplation' or read the book recommenced in this esend. What every you do, be gentle with yourself.
Blessings --- Will Van Der Hart

Forum Moderators

Much of today’s worship and prayer seems to be a closed system which does not allow for the validity of silence and solitude. Shaun Lambert explores how this can be a reality for us today and how this can help our emotions.
We are recruiting. Can you spare half an hour a week to improve our forums and help moderate comments on the site. Some computer literacy needed but not too much!

Challenging Church

'Coming to Peace with Psychology' is a new book by big-hitter American Christian Psychologist Everett Worthington. What can Christians learn from psychological sciences? An uneasy partnership, or a relationship that will enhance both our theology and our faith?
How do you manage difficult or challenging behaviour, particularly during services, and make sure that your church is indeed mental health friendly, without driving everyone else crazy?!
