Leeds Faith In Schools - Latest on fundraising appeal

God has proved himself as a very faithful God, the God in whom we can fully put our trust. Last month our volunteer fundraiser David Goldspink wrote an appeal letter that was sent out in the Network Leeds Bulletin. lfis

Each week as we have opened the post in response to the appeal we have been amazed. At last count there has been over £16,000 of one-off donations and standing order increases of over £250.

This puts us half way towards our target. We recognise that whilst we have turned a corner we still have work to do in our fundraising efforts.

What this means going forward is that we will be able to continue working in each of the ten high schools every week, the staff team from August will return to 100% salary and the reserves of the charity are sufficiently replenished to bring a stability to our finances.

Personally I would like to say a huge thank you to our supporters.

Additionally our latest newsletter reports a few departures from our staff team. Adam Price after 5 years of outstanding service is leaving us to go and work for Hope Church, Harrogate. Jo White having completed her 11month mentoring internship has got a job at Immanuel School, Bradford as a Learning Support Assistant. Hannah Read at the end of July will finish her short term contract as our administrator.

Adam, Jo and Hannah will be greatly missed however we wish them well for their future and thank them for the impact they have had on the organisation and also the lives of young people in Leeds.

They will be replaced by Chris Langdale and Helen Trew as part time schoolsworkers and our administrator will be in post by September following interviews at the end of July.

With grateful thanks for your generosity and prayers.
