The Leeds Summat Gathering 2011 is coming, and we’ve a great programme shaping up. (Many thanks to all the applicants, with their great and varied ideas.) The programme so far includes:

Acclaimed human rights activist Peter Tatchell, BBC Look North’s Harry Gration, pioneering creative campaigners UK UncutPeople’s Supermarket (as seen on TV), and the world premiere performance of ‘A Quirky History of Leeds’…

And a huge range of workshops, performers, and activities including…

Music from diverse 
Planet Leeds performers; debating the Big Society with Leeds Salon; giant shared meals; personal development with groups including Progress School and White Rose Speakers Club; flash-mob dance; economics sessions with groups including Christian Aid and Leeds Taking Soundings; sessions on spirituality and inner journeys with Peace Talks Yorkshire and others; football with Republica Internacionale FC; Leeds-centred conversations with Café Scientifique, TIDAL, and others; the launch of new book ‘Counterpower’; redesigning society and life with Permaculture UK; ethical business with Green Bean Cars and friends; a guerrilla marketing / adbusting session; and much, much more.
