Supermum - The myth

“Comforting, Healing, Challenging and Inspiring”…. … These are some of the words Lindsay used to describe a recent Care for the Family Bereavement Support event. Lindsay’s husband, Trevor, died less than a year ago, leaving her as a single mum of a teenage daughter. She seemed to cope well with her bereavement at first, and so she was shocked when, six months’ later, she found herself feeling worse than the she did during the first few weeks after Trevor’s death. Get involved in 2012 Every year thousands of pounds is raised for Care for the Family through passionate individuals who take part in fun activities like organising auctions, running marathons, baking cakes, holding coffee mornings and much more! From the awe-inspiring to the ridiculous, our amazing fundraisers have probably done it! Their hard work and dedication has made a real and lasting difference to families who are hurting and facing difficulties.

Volunteer with us!
Care for the Family currently has around 280 volunteers who run parenting and pre-marriage courses, support those facing challenging situations, and help us with admin and promotion work. We are so grateful for their dedication and commitment. We couldn’t carry out our work of supporting families across the UK and the Isle of Man without their involvement. Read More...
