The Impact Local Churches are Having In Africa
Hi. My name is Mark Powley, I am Associate Rector of St George's Church in Leeds.
I had never been to Africa before and didn't know what to expect when I visited Uganda with Tearfund last month.
I wanted to see with my own eyes the impact that local churches are having on their communities with Tearfund's help.
What I found was amazing – the churches are truly being salt and light, and local communities are being transformed as a result.
Please share my experience by watching this short film. You'll see how it is possible for people to be empowered and to start living hopeful fulfilling lives, where families do not go hungry, where people have access to clean water and sanitation, and where children begin to go to school.
