Diagram showing the overall work of Unity in Poverty Action
The diagram demonstrates the ongoing relationship between Church Congregations and frontline initiatives in Leeds. Unity in Poverty Action exists to help facilitate resources going out from church congregations to the frontline, helping those out on the frontline to work and pray together and helping both churches and projects/organisations to engage in on going discipleship. It’s worth noting that the diagram does not mention every initiative that UPA works with. There are a number of other initiatives, particularly in youth and children’s work and in main stream society which UPA engages with in order to help see poverty tackled more effectively throughout the city.
Resources going from churches to help tackle homelessness, debt, prostitution and addiction through either initiatives run by churches themselves e.g. Abundant life homeless drop in or through Cross denominational initiatives such as Joanna. The grey line also demonstrates that UPA helps these initiatives to work and pray together.
Resources going out to help asylum seekers and refugees. The blue line also represents UPA helping people who work in this field to work and pray together.
Church Congregations being family and engaging in on going discipleship with those living on the margins.
