If you are not a Christian - a message of love

1. God loves you and has a plan for your life.

His love is amazing! In fact, God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him would not die but have eternal life.

His plan for your life is a relationship with Almighty God. This is eternal life: that we might know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He sent.

What prevents us from knowing God personally?

2. We are separated from God by our sin, so we cannot know Him personally or experience His love and power.

We are sinful, in fact all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Sin separates us from God and one day we will pay for our sin. Unfortunately for us, the wages of sin is death (separated from God forever).

What is sin? Sin is everything that Jesus wouldn’t do. It is wanting to go our own way. We show this by disobeying God or by simply ignoring Him.

The solution?

3. Jesus Christ is God’s solution. Through Him alone can we know God and experience His love and power.

Jesus died in our place. He died for our sins once and for all, a perfect man on behalf of sinners, in order to lead us to God.

God demonstrated His unique love for us, because while we were still sinners, he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us.

Jesus is alive and many witnessed this fact in the flesh. For forty days after His death He appeared to them many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that He was alive.

We all deserve to be cut off from God forever, as a penalty for our sin, no matter how great or small. But God sent Jesus to be our ransom, to pay the penalty for us by dying on the cross and rising two days later. In doing this Jesus became our bridge back to God: we can now know God and be forgiven.

Jesus is the only way to God. He said “I am the way the truth and the life; no one comes to the father, except through Me” (John 14:6)

It’s not enough just to know the facts…

4. We must receive Jesus Christ into our lives as Saviour and Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us.

Bernhard Langer, professional golfer and twice US Masters winner said this “After understanding that God loved me so much that He sent His only son to die for my sins, it was natural to ask the Lord into my life.”

We receive Christ through faith and when we do He gives us the right to become children of God, because we have believed in His name.

When we receive Christ we experience a new birth, this is a spiritual birth. (Read John 3:1-8).

When Jesus ascended into heaven He did not leave us alone, He gave us the Holy Spirit to be our helper and companion in life. (John 14:26, John 16:5-15.)

Who can receive the Holy Spirit into his life? Well, the promise of eternal life is for you, and your children, and to all your descendants, in fact for everyone whom God calls.

D.L. Moody said this: “It is easier for a man to breath without air than it is for a Christian to live without the Holy Spirit.”

You can receive Christ as your Lord and Saviour right now – He has personally invited you!

Come to Jesus and acknowledge Him as the Son of God and your personal Saviour. He’s standing at the door of your heart. He’s knocking and if you will only respond to His voice and open the door, He will come into you and be with you forever.

Repent. This simply means, “to turn away”; we need to realize that we are sinners, ask Jesus to forgive you and turn away from what you know is wrong.

Obey God moment by moment (John 14:21), read the Bible (Acts 17:11) and pray daily (John 15:7).

Witness for Christ by your life and words. If being a Christian is the greatest thing in your life, why keep it a secret. Matthew 4:19, John 15:8, Acts 1:8.

Never give up on Jesus, He will never give up on you. He promised “I love you with an everlasting love.” Jesus will never stop loving you, He gave his life for you - can you say the same to Him?

God knows your heart, He knows everything about you, and nothing is hidden from Him.

If you are ready to give your life to Jesus, pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life as promised.

“Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins, I open the door of my heart and receive you as my personal Lord and Saviour. Forgive me for my sins, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and help me to follow you all the days of my life.”

If you have prayed this prayer from your heart, then according to God’s Word, the Bible, you are now a new creation, a Christian, a child of God.

The Bible says, “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Can you think of anything more wonderful than God living in you and that you are now in a relationship with Him? Why not thank God in prayer right now for what He has done for you? By thanking God you demonstrate your faith.

We would encourage you to go now and tell a friend or family member what you have done and join a local Bible-believing church.
