capacITy bursaries to help groups access essential IT support
Electroville, in partnership with VA-L’s capacITy Project, have been awarded funding from Improving Reach. This will allow capacITy to provide bursaries to VCFS organisations across West Yorkshire to access high quality, low cost ICT support and training. This will provide money towards the cost of a subscription to the ICT support service over a three year period on a tapering basis. Packages of Support from VA-L's Development Worker
VA-L offers support to organisations in the in the following areas: Bid Review, Amending Model Documents, Policy & Procedures and Organisation Health Checks. Work consists of an initial consultation, a detailed review and recommendations. This work is free for groups with an income below £100,000 per year and for groups above this level the cost is £75. Additional support to address the review would be available at an additional £35 per hour. VA-L also offers Bespoke Training and Away Day/Workshop Facilitation at £200 per half-day. Faiths in Action is a £4m grants programme open to faith, interfaith, and third sector organisations in England. Parks for People
The joint Heritage Lottery Fund/Big Lottery Fund Parks for People programme will soon be coming to the end of its current funding cycle. The programme helps with the restoration and regeneration of public parks and gardens. Grants of between £250,000 and £5m are available and the final deadline for initial applications under the current guidelines is 30 September. Leonardo Preparatory Visits
Grants of up to €1,000 are available to enable organisations to prepare the ground for making bids for Leonardo funding. Leonardo offers support to organisations of all sizes that are involved in the design or delivery of training that enables people to get back into work. LIFE+
The European Commission has issued a call for proposals to LIFE+ for projects to begin after 1 January 2010. LIFE+ runs from 2007-13 and brings together three funding streams: Nature and biodiversity; Environment; Policy and governance. The majority of the money goes on Nature and Biodiversity projects. Health Department’s Third Sector Investment Programme
New government funding arrangements for third sector organisations in health and social care have been announced, with the Third Sector Investment Programme replacing the ‘Section 64 General Scheme of Grants’. The two new funding schemes for 2009/10 are now open for applications, a Strategic Partner programme and an innovation, excellence and service development fund. Grant will encourage democratic participation
A £150,000 grant scheme to encourage more people to participate in public discussions and get more involved in shaping government policy has been launched.
