Services We Offer
Befriending and mentoring
As our client women stop working on the street, boredom and loneliness often set in. As they depend less on drugs and alcohol to mask their pain, they struggle to cope with the torrent of emotions that come to the surface. Unfortunately, most agencies begin to withdraw their support at this critical juncture as the client women have less apparent presenting needs.
As part of our relapse prevention, we aim to give continued emotional support and ongoing care for as long as a women wants it.
We aim to:
-
Empower our client women to develop a more structured lifestyle and daily routine
-
Promote self-esteem and encourage patterns of self care
-
Help address some of the root causes for substance dependency
-
Offer a listening ear and informal counselling support
-
Challenge and facilitate change of thinking and behaviour patterns and provide them with tools to develop positive life style change
-
Help our client women to discover and develop areas of interests, hobbies, etc.
-
Encourage self-expression, confidence and creativity, through various activities
-
Empower our client women to rediscover their identity, restore healthy boundaries and regain a sense of trust
-
Help them to reconnect with self, families and the wider community through outings and activities
We try to prepare our client women to engage with more structured day programmes or training sessions in the future.
